During the series ‘discoveries on Sunday’ at BIJ ANDREAS we give a stage to up-and-coming talent. There are regular concerts on Sunday afternoons at 4 pm.
Satomi Chihara received her first piano lessons at the age of three. Her teacher quickly realized how talented she was and introduced her to the prominent Toho Gakuen Music High School in Tokyo. She completed her studies at this school with great success and received a special award. After listening to Willem Brons in 2013, she decided to leave Japan to continue her studies at the Conservatory of Amsterdam under his guidance. In 2015 she won a prize at the YPF competition. In 2020 Satomi obtained her Master’s Degree with compositions by Beethoven, Debussy and Liszt.
On Sunday afternoon, February 5, 2023, Satomi will play music by Bach and Beethoven, among others.
